Frederick Waldhausen-Gordon

Freddy is one of the brightest rising stars we've had in Scotland for a very long time. Born in 2010, at time of writing (Dec 2022) he is already ranked 2159.

In 2019 he represented Scotland in the European U/10 Youth Championships, then in 2020 be was Scottish Primary Champion, British U/10 Champion, and represented Scotland in the European U/12 Youth Championships. Since then his development has been dramatic. In 2021 he defeated GM Bogdan Lalic in an online rapid event and has since gone on to play successfully in strong adult events at long time-controls now that over the board play has resumed following the lifting of Covid restrictions. In summer 2022 he even played for Scotland at the Olympiad in Chennai and was doing well until contracting Covid - fortunately a mild strain - and having to isolate.
