The 189th AGM of the Edinburgh Chess Club will be held at 7.45pm, Tuesday 14th September at 1 Alva Street, Edinburgh.

All members are encouraged to attend and participate, particularly in light of the recent developments relating to the required roof repairs and the financial implications for the Club.  Please note however, that under the Club Laws voting rights reside with current Full Members (Town, Country, Concessionary and Life Members).  Such members who wish to vote should ensure that they have paid their 2010/11 subscription prior to commencement of the meeting.

Semi Final Results:

The battle to get to the final was hard fought with both games running to tie-breaks, although not in the same scale of the recent 70-68 Isner-Mahut result at Wimbledon.

Shivan Murdochy 1 – 1 Keith Aitchison, with Shivan winning the tie break 1-1 (allegro), 2-0 (blitz).

David Archibald 1 – 1 Rod Cranston, with David winning the tie break 2-0 (allegro)

Grading:

All full-length games played in the championship have been submitted for SCA grading to appear in the new grading list.

A few games from the 2009 championships have also been included that were played after last year’s deadline.
