Richardson Cup

One of our early winning teams

Traditionally the premier team tournament in Scotland it was established in 1899. For many years Edinburgh and the old Glasgow Chess Club made it a two horse race - Glasgow winning it 33 times and Edinburgh 23, but later the axis of power changed and it is some years since we were in contention to win it back. It is played over 8 boards with a long time control of 40 moves in 2 hours and a half hour quickplay.
